Travelling is undeniably one of the most enjoyable leisure activities, and it is entirely understandable. Who would not want to visit different places, experience various cultures, and have a taste of numerous dishes? But last year, all these were put to a halt due to the spread of COVID-19.
In 2020, no one expected that the world would experience one of the biggest health crises. No one was prepared when the highly contagious COVID started spreading. And despite the countless efforts of governments and healthcare workers, the number of cases infected with the virus continued to increase. Due to the situation, governments had to impose protocols, such as wearing masks, lockdowns, and travel restrictions.
Fortunately, medical experts were fast enough to develop testing materials that have provided significant help in identifying and tracking who is infected. This allowed the healthcare industry to create solutions to help the battle with COVID. Additionally, this year vaccines were also developed and rolled out. These improvements have prompted the relaxation of health protocols, and that includes the restrictions in travelling.
Just this July, the UK government announced that they had lifted quarantine protocols for travellers. Although there are still restrictions (e.g. expatriates and travellers who were not vaccinated under the British rollout system and tourists under the red list of the UK’s traffic light system are still required to undergo quarantine), the improvements have been truly apparent.
These changes are great news, especially for travellers. However, you must still remember that you will still need to submit several requirements to travel safely and hassle-free. One requirement that you need to pass is a negative COVID test result. You can either use the rapid antigen test for travel or fit to fly COVID test to prove that you are safe to travel and are not infected with COVID. Additionally, you must also prove that you are already full vaccinated.
Furthermore, passenger locator forms remain compulsory and should be submitted 48 hours before arriving in the UK. You will be required to present this upon travel or when you ride a plane, train, or ferry.
So if you are planning to travel and visit the land of hope and glory, you can visit Harley Medical International and take the required tests. Our representatives will always be eager to assist you in going through all the processes.
